INTRODUCTION
Thanks for sharing with us that one or more of your furry family members are interested in joining your Airstream trip! We can’t disagree with them! At VANVANSLLC we always want to make things work for you while still adhering to our Best-in-Class Quality Standards. This SERVICE ANIMAL and PET EXCEPTION POLICY outlines the context and need for the policy, the risks and effects, as well as the way (an) accompanying pet(s) liability for the owner will be managed. The final decision lays with the pet owner(s) and will be driven by their comfort level of how they can comply with the policy.

It is our aim to consistently provide you with this high level of service and quality
THE RISK OF BRINGING A PET
The potential risks and effects we recognize, pets can bring to the Airstream are:
-
Dogs and other pets might leave their oils and body fluids around which can leave a smell in the camper
-
Lingering scent on bedding, pillows, mattress, and cloth upholstery
-
Airstreams have a Soft Seamless Vinyl flooring which is very vulnerable for objects dropped (punctures) and scratches, i.e. dog nails.
-
Dogs shedding hair in the camper
-
Unintended chewing damage
-
Bug screens/bug screen door are vulnerable targets for pets
HOW WE CAN MAKE IT WORK FOR YOU
-
We understand that your pet(s) is/are equally important as any other family member and deserves a spot on your trip.
-
We are committed to pay special attention for accompanying service dogs and measures to make the accommodation work.
-
Not all dogs or pets are the same and the only persons that knows their pets well enough, is You the pet-owner.
We will rely on your judgement:
-
If you recognize any of the above effects in your car or your house already, or know how your furry friends can be naughty… then you shouldn’t take the risk to rent.
-
If you feel comfortable and don’t recognize, anticipate or are able to mitigate and control any of the above risks:
-
Hurray! You should consider proceeding with the rental
-
Separate language will be provided in the Rental Agreement through the Addendum 1 Form, stating that you understand the risk and the liability to resolve any impacts or damage caused by your pet during your rental period.
-
We will ask you for a security deposit check of $ 500.00, that we will keep in the office until your return. (it will not hit your account)
-
A VANVANS LLC representative and the You the renter will take pre-trip pictures for reference.
-
On return both parties do the standard on return Airstream walkdown.
-
In case of any findings, both parties will determine if damage or impact is covered by the security deposit or if it needs to be turned into an insurance claim filing
-
-
Here are some additional actions that can help you mitigate the risks
-
Regular cleaning with odor neutralizing soft detergent
-
Venting the Airstream
-
Drying dogs before bringing in the camper
-
Covering upholstery for pet seating/sleeping locations
-
Dog nail trim and bath before trip start
-
Not leaving pets unattended in the Airstream and away from screened openings.
- Regular vacuum cleaning – All our Airstreams are equipped with Hoover PowerOne handheld vacuum cleaners
